Binances CZ called out for allegedly ‘harassing domain owner

Cryptofelon claimed that CZ Binance is ‘harassing’ to takeover his web domain

Crypto space is filled with drama. The latest episodes of this is about Binance and its CEO: CZ Binance.

In a major Twitter thread, developer Cryptofelon claims that CZ is harassing him with hostile takeovers. According to him, Binance’s founder and CEO, CZ, is “trying to steal his domain.”

The problem actually dates back to November 2021 and has recently resurfaced after his domain was suspended.

Legal connection of Cryptofelon about CZ Binance

In fact, the developers went a step further and argued that CZ Binance threatened the decentralization of the crypto market. He claimed that Binance was threatening / requesting that his domain be handed over for free.

He claimed that the problem began in November 2021 when Binance executive Min Lin contacted him. Minlin proposed to buy his domain, but it was postponed by his request for 420 ETH. However, a few days later, Binance issued a “cease and desist letter” to him, including a alleged trademark infringement.

Imminent threat

Seven months later, on June 17, Binance filed lawsuit against Cryptofelon. The proceeding was filed in a Canadian court, but he cannot appear due to a criminal record in the United States.

He continued that the CZ was “playing dirty,” adding that this was the case, even though the CZ publicly claimed “decentralization.” In fact, after July 5th, he was unable to access or renew his domain and transfer it to his domain. He is currently working on unlocking the domain and maintaining ownership of the domain for the duration of the problem.

“While CZ is a self-proclaimed supporter of decentralization, CZ chooses to abuse centralized power and steal its domain from its own hands.”

As part of that, Binance has not yet publicly commented on the process.

What does the community say about Binance and Cryptofelon?

Needless to say, not everything was black and white, and opinions varied. The thread above is full of people competing for the development version.

For example, one critic argued that:

“We don’t have all the facts, but not everyone is telling the whole story.”

According to him, there are always “reverse domain hijacking” attempts in Web 2.
