Binance, the world’s leading provider of blockchain platforms and cryptocurrencies, is the new exclusive cryptocurrency sponsor for brasileirão Assaí, Brasileirão Female Neoenergia, Brasileirão Female A-2 and Brasileirão Female A-3. These are the top four tournaments organized by the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF). The three-year partnership aims to increase Binance’s recognition in these tournaments, while also contributing to the development of Fan Tokens – interactive and beneficial digital assets – along with NFT and other projects. “The industry has been constantly changing into the digital ecosystem and technology. The fans of the football nation have joined the world of fan tokens and NFT. And in that context, partnering with Binance, a giant company in this market, is a great and innovative move. This is a strategic partnership for us to better understand football fans in Brazil and help them connect deeply with these tournaments,” said Lorenzo Perales, Director of Marketing and Advertising at CBF. “Sport is an important factor that promotes inclusion in society. Football has a strong connection to Brazilian identity and culture, so our partnership with the CBF is extremely important to expand cryptocurrency usage and make a positive impact on users, the cryptocurrency community and blockchain, and Brazilian society as a whole,” said Changpeng Zhao, Binance’s CEO and founder.
In order to focus on developing the Brazilian market, Binance announced in March 2022 that it was signing a Memorandum of Understanding expressing interest in the acquisition of Investimentos, a Brazilian exchange managed by the Central Bank of Brazil and the Securities commission (CVM). However, the transaction requires the approval of regulators, including brazil’s central bank. In the field of sports in Brazil, the company has sponsored the teams paulistão Sicredi and Santos Futebol Clube. Binance also supports sports worldwide, sponsoring the Africa Cup of Nations, the largest football event in the African continent, and European football teams Porto of Portugal and Lazio of Italy. In addition, the company is also cooperating with the F1 and Alpine racing teams. The Brasileirão Assaí tournament consists of the top 20 clubs in the country’s men’s football. Brasileirão Female Neoenergia is a Series A qualifier of the Brazilian Women’s Championship, with 16 clubs – the same number as Brasileirão Female A-2, a Series B qualifier. In addition, brasileirão female A-3 will be held for the first time this year with the participation of 32 teams competing.
